In our continuing efforts to make computer repair simple and affordable for everyone, A-Tech has decided to develop a new pricing structure in order to accommodate our clients in the best way possible. Most of our repairs will fall under the Basic or Advanced Pickup Services. Please note that A-Tech has no drop-off rates, and pickup and return is included free of charge in our Pickup Service rates within our service area.
Diagnostics – $35
We will diagnose your computer problems for you and let you know what is wrong, what needs replacing and give an estimate of the total costs to repair the problems. This fee is only charged if you decide to not have your computer repaired.
Pickup Service – Basic Repairs – $60
Our basic service covers many problems that you could be having with your computer. Some examples are:
- Installation and Configuration of Software
- Minor Hardware Installation; RAM, PSU, Video Card, Modem, Networking Card, etc.
- General Windows Problems and Errors
- Data Backup & Restore
- Basic Cleanup and Optimization
- Includes 1 other basic repair; combine them to save money.
- Many other things not listed here
Pickup Service – Advanced Repairs – $100
While the Basic Repair fee covers many of the issues our clients have, some problems require more attention to complete. Here are a few things that would qualify as an Advanced Repair:
- Virus, Spyware & Malware Removal
- Primary Hard Drive Replacement
- Data Recovery from Logical Errors
- Windows Installation or Re-installation
- Motherboard Replacement
- More than 2 “Basic” problems
On-Site Service – $60 per hour
All on-site service done at your location will be charged at this rate with a one-hour minimum. After the first hour, you will be billed in 15 minute intervals. Please note that some services will require to be done on-site such as:
- WiFi Network Setup
- Network Diagnostics and Repair
- Printer Setup
- New Computer installation
- Anything you specifically ask for on-site service for
- We may determine that it will be cheaper or the same cost to do the work on-site.
In some cases, we may choose to attempt a repair on-site. If we are unable to repair it within an hour, we will take the computer and perform either Basic or Advanced Pickup Service. The costs associated with our on-site work will be waived and you will not be charged for it.
Specialized Repairs, Packages & Fees
Almost all of the repairs that A-Tech fall under the category of either a Basic or Advanced repair with the prices above. However, some repairs require either more specialized work or would be cheaper if grouped together. Below you can find the prices for those services and for fees that may be applied.
Laptop DC Jack Repair – $130
This price includes everything required to have the DC Jack on your laptop replaced. This price includes the standard cost of a replacement DC jack for a laptop. Extra charges may apply if your laptop has a specialized or hard-to-find DC jack.
Specialized Business Services
While many services that a business require fall under the services listed above, some specialized business services have different rates such as working on Servers or providing IT consulting. The on-site rate above does not cover these services. Please call to discuss these rates and how A-Tech can help your business.
Out of Service Area Fee – $25 or more
We service a very large area of Cecil County, but if you happen to fall outside of this area, then this fee will apply. This fee is applicable for both pickup and on-site service. Determining if you are within our service area is done when you setup an appointment.
No-Show Fee – $35
A-Tech confirms every appointment before departing for your location. If, after confirming the appointment, there is no answer at the door or we are unable to perform the work requested then this fee may be charged. If you need to cancel an appointment, for any reason, simply give us a quick call and let us know and this fee will be waived, even if we are already on our way to your location.
The small-print: Unless otherwise stated, the prices do not include the cost of hardware. As the above prices can not possibly handle any and all situations, A-Tech makes the final decision on the cost of a repair and if it will be billed flat-rate or hourly. You will be informed of this before A-Tech performs the work.
